We empower students of all ages to encourage a lifelong love of art and creativity. Our learning programs include classes, camps, outreach events and more.
Whether an aspiring dancer or experienced toe-tapper, participants will learn fancy footwork to take their skills to the next level. Focusing on a different style for each class, participants will learn both traditional and contemporary steps used for ballroom, salsa and dancing for fitness. Classes are geared to create a fun, relaxed environment and comfortable footwear is encouraged. It takes two to tango, so please register with a dance partner.
Learn and expand upon a range of concepts, strategies and processes that are part of creating abstract artwork. Techniques used in mixed media and acrylic painting will be presented as well as historical information, examples of contemporary abstract artwork and color theory. Materials list is provided upon registration.

3D Mixed Media

Centered around the process of experimentation, this course utilizes both traditional and unconventional media such as clay, wire, fabric, found objects and digital elements to create dynamic, tactile compositions. Whether experienced or newer to the concept of mixed media, students will explore a unique approach to convey ideas within a three-dimensional space. Materials list is provided upon registration.
Young artists will explore a variety of art materials to create mixed media artowrks. Using collage, printing and painting techniques, students will learn new techniques in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. Work from observation and imagination and come dressed for mess. All materials are provided.
Studying the works of Gustav Klimt, Kehinde Wiley and other contemporary artists, students will explore each artist’s unique approach to filling negative space. Creating a painted surface, students will apply these techniques and explore how to achieve visual interest with pattern, color and texture. Materials list is provided upon registration.
Join fellow art enthusiasts who share a passion for lively discussions and riveting art presentations centered on current issues and cultural diversity in contemporary art through the lens of myths. Continuing from the previous course, explore how the legends of Scylla, Arachne, Lilith, the Minotaur and more are depicted in both ancient and contemporary art. All materials are provided.
Over the course of this class, students will discover the process of creating a unique set of characters through sketches and concept design. Character sketches will gain realistic qualities such as personal style, unique physical features and descriptive personality traits. Students will experience the creative process used by professional artists to design a cast for a cartoon show, manga or an animated series. All materials are provided.
Using the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) method, beginning and experienced writers will build skills for fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry writing. This group will focus on in-class writing, voluntary sharing and positive feedback in a supportive environment. Optional writing prompts are designed to help writers with craft and creativity. The instructor is an AWA certified affiliate. Please bring paper and a pen.

Monotype Printing Workshop

This workshop will teach students how to create a monotype print to produce a single impression. Working in stages, images are transferred, inked and printed to create a unique final product. All materials are provided; however, it is recommended that you bring inspirational source materials such as a sketch, a photograph, or magazine clipping.
Learn how stylized facial features and whimsical aesthetics can create a unique portrait in this fun and creative workshop. Using the versatile medium of gouache paint, students will experiment with line and color to create expressive characters that tell a story. Live demonstrations will guide the class participants through the creative process while experimenting with various brush strokes and values. Materials list is provided upon registration.
Participants will begin this class by exploring techniques that create the illusion of depth. Using an optic reference chart created with the instructor, participants will paint an image that applies forced perspective to achieve the appearance of depth. Materials list is provided upon registration.

Our scholarship program makes artistic learning opportunities possible for all ages. Scholarships are available for our classes, workshops and camp programs. A simple application is all that is needed.
We provide access to exceptional exhibitions and programs that explore and inspire contemporary thought. Our tours bring a diverse group of nearly 2,000 students annually to LCA for educational tours and onsite art making. Bring your students to Lubeznik Center for the Arts for an inspirational tour of our exhibits featuring internationally known and emerging artists creating unique and exciting work.
When students can't get to our galleries, we have developed a free virtual program to bring the art to your students! Educators can utilize a series of video field trips tailored to use in person or virtually.
