TEENS! Join us at Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) for snacks and needle felting. Learn new skills and make new friends!
Felting is the process of matting loose fibers, such as wool, by pressing them together using a felting needle to form a sculpted fabric object. All materials will be provided to create your own fall-themed felt “painting.”

Walker Street Park Community Garden Mural Ribbon Cutting

Join us in celebrating the new colorful addition to Walker Street Park Community Garden with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 24, at 10 AM CT! 900 Walker Street, Michigan City, IN 46360
The mural, painted by Alex Ann Allen, reflects the community's creativity and vision and was developed through conversations with stakeholders, east-side residents, and public surveys. This project was facilitated by LCA and funded through the American Rescue Funds from the City of Michigan City.
The celebration will continue from 1 to 5 p.m. with Walker Street Park Community Garden’s 6th Annual Harvest Festival, which will also mark the final market day of the garden’s 2026 season.
The family-friendly festival will feature bilingual storyteller Mama Edith Armstrong, an African drumming performance by the Drum Divas, a vendor market, a cooking demonstration with Chef Nakia Bonds, youth activities and a community meal prepared using in-season produce from the garden.

"UNREAL" Exhibit Opening Reception

Join us on Friday, November 6 from 5-8 PM (Central), for the opening reception of LCA's new exhibition, "UNREAL."Enjoy an evening out featuring spectacular art, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
This exhibition brings together five Midwestern artists — Anthony Adcock, Cindy Bernhard, Chris Cosnowski, Renee McGinnis, and Ari Norris — who employ illusion, hyperrealism, trompe l’oeil (French for "to deceive the eye"), humor, art historical references and extraordinary craftsmanship to examine the unstable boundary between what we see and what we believe. Their works invite us to look more closely, not only at the art objects before us, but at the assumptions, desires, fears and systems that shape our understanding of reality.
As always, admission is free!

Dig the Dunes and Treasures by the Tide are teaming up for their fourth annual Artisan Market at LCA – admission is free!
Shop for local handmade items in all three of LCA's galleries. More than 30 artisans and makers will fill LCA, offering an eclectic mix of handcrafted jewelry, art, home décor, fiber arts, glasswork, accessories, baked goods, books, bath and body products and one-of-a-kind gifts. Find something unique for that special someone or treat yourself. Attendees can enjoy food from two local food trucks, Travelin' Tom's Coffee and Brisket Bisket Jr., and a cash bar with beer, wine and mimosas. Anderson Window will also be on-site offering a craft activity.

Family Days are particularly engaging for school-age children and their parents or caregivers. Free snacks will be provided, and no advance registration is required. Free Family Day offers children and adults opportunities to connect while exploring LCA’s summer exhibition, "UNREAL."

NIPSCO Educational Studios Exhibitions
In our NIPSCO Educational Studios, local artists from around the region exhibit their artwork throughout the year. Each month, you can find different artists' work displayed in the studios. Click the button below to view the upcoming schedule!
Our free First Friday cultural programs take place on the first Friday of each month from 5-8 PM. The annual schedule includes everything from exhibition openings to live music to youth dance performances. All events feature free admission, free food and a cash bar. A typical First Friday sees between 150 and 400 visitors of all ages.
ArtBash Gala
Every June, join us for our annual ArtBash Gala and help support our mission of integrating art, education and community to provide access to compelling exhibitions and programs that explore contemporary ideas. Your support ensures everyone has access to the arts. The night includes an open bar, dinner, a silent auction, dancing and fun!
This popular festival held by Lubeznik Center for the Arts is one of the highlights of summer in Northwest Indiana. It takes place on LCA’s grounds to connect festival-goers to the our dynamic programming and exhibitions. Spend two fun-filled days in the summer with 70+ art vendors, a live mural invitational, indoor exhibitions, family activities, demos, local food vendors and beer and wine!
During the winter, hundreds of our Gallery Shop items spill into the lobby for our Holiday Artisan Market. Lubeznik Center for the Arts annual Holiday Artisan Market, held from late November to early January, is the place to find unique gifts crafted by local artisans including jewelry, ceramics and wearable art. Come celebrate the winter season and support local artists!
