LCA Artmaker members, join us for a very unique and authentic art experience, exclusively for LCA donors. The workshop will include an introduction to Kyoto culture and history as it relates to the art of kintsugi, overview of the process of kintsugi with examples of work (current and historic) that all can see and touch, actual process of kintsugi (so all can adhere broken pieces together and paint chips, cracks or breaks with gold) and the importance of Japanese tea as related to kintsugi history, with a provision of Japanese tea for all.
This is an offering for those who could not join us for the first workshop previously held. If you participated in the January workshop, please allow others the opportunity to sign up for this one. Free Family Day
Join us for a FREE day of art-making at LCA on Saturday, May 24 from 1-3 PM (Central)!
This free, drop-in event welcomes all ages to create their own mini weaving project using recycled materials provided by LCA. Families are also invited to contribute to a large collaborative weaving that will be displayed outside on LCA’s building. Plus, kids can enjoy a fun, family-friendly scavenger hunt through LCA’s three galleries, all in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Family Days are particularly engaging for school-age children and their parents or caregivers. Free snacks will be provided, and no advance registration is required. Free Family Day offers children and adults opportunities to connect while exploring LCA’s exhibition, "Ordinary Wonders."

LOK Young Artists Expo Showcase

Calling All Young Artists!
Submit your art for the Young Artists Expo, a showcase for artists between the ages of 7 and 18. Contact nmarcano@lubeznikcenter.org to schedule a portfolio review by May 9. This is an informal review that can take place in person or online.
Join us Friday, June 6 from 5-8 PM (Central) for the opening celebration of the Lindsey O'Brien Kesling Wishing Tree Foundation Young Artists Expo (LOK YAE) showcase at Lubeznik Center for the Arts!
The evening’s free, family-friendly program will begin at 5 PM with an artist meet and greet, followed by a presentation at 6 PM (Central). Attendees can browse the exhibition of student artwork and even purchase artwork created by these talented young artists. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available throughout the event.
This exhibition is a showcase of talented youth ages 7 through 18 in all media. The LOK YAE represents artists from LCA’s partnerships with numerous community and regional school partners. The artwork, chosen through individual portfolio review, is an impressive display of the extraordinarily talented youth from across the region.

The Watercolors of DC Langley

LCA Artmaker members, spend the day seeing the art of DC Langley, hosted by his daughter Judi at the home and garden he and his wife, Joan, built in 1968. DC was a prolific artist, choosing watercolor to render what he observed for over 40 years along the southern shores of Lake Michigan, and a long-time participant in the Lubeznik Arts Festival. Join us this summer for our 43rd Lubeznik Arts Festival (LAF)! LAF is one of the highlights of summer in Northwest Indiana! Taking place on LCA’s grounds, just steps away from Lake Michigan, LAF connects festival-goers to our dynamic programming and exhibitions. During this year’s festival, we’ll have 80+ artists, food vendors, indoor exhibitions, family activities and live demos. LCA's summer blockbuster exhibition, Women to the Front, will also be on display inside LCA.

NIPSCO Educational Studios Exhibitions
In our NIPSCO Educational Studios, local artists from around the region exhibit their artwork throughout the year. Each month, you can find different artists' work displayed in the studios. Click the button below to view the upcoming schedule!
Our free First Friday cultural programs take place on the first Friday of each month from 5-8 PM. The annual schedule includes everything from exhibition openings to live music to youth dance performances. All events feature free admission, free food and a cash bar. A typical First Friday sees between 150 and 400 visitors of all ages.
ArtBash Gala
Every June, join us for our annual ArtBash Gala and help support our mission of integrating art, education and community to provide access to compelling exhibitions and programs that explore contemporary ideas. Your support ensures everyone has access to the arts. The night includes an open bar, dinner, a silent auction, dancing and fun!
This popular festival held by Lubeznik Center for the Arts is one of the highlights of summer in Northwest Indiana. It takes place on LCA’s grounds to connect festival-goers to the our dynamic programming and exhibitions. Spend two fun-filled days in the summer with 70+ art vendors, a live mural invitational, indoor exhibitions, family activities, demos, local food vendors and beer and wine!
During the winter, hundreds of our Gallery Shop items spill into the lobby for our Holiday Artisan Market. Lubeznik Center for the Arts annual Holiday Artisan Market, held from late November to early January, is the place to find unique gifts crafted by local artisans including jewelry, ceramics and wearable art. Come celebrate the winter season and support local artists!
